Built the frame out of surplus maple, and everything fit and looks nice. OK, I have an oversize dustcover, so I decided to 'reframe' the Basik turntable to accept this surplus dustcover. Now I'm left with an armless, coverless table. Because the dustcover was excellent and the price was right, I went and bought it (I really only needed the dustcover for one of my LP12 builds). A guy in New Jersey was selling this Basik, because he acquired a LP12 for cheap. I decided to rebuild and customize a Linn Basik turntable (Linn's entry-level unit, introduced in the late 80s and discontinued sometime in the later 90s).
